PREFACE

 

 

You may say, I am neither bibulous nor blind, but are you biblical ?

 

 

The wisdom of God has sent many prophets, and their words, at His will, have been in designated cases collected, being inscribed, and clad in unity, made into one volume, one library of divine diction, proclamation, pronunciation in propositions, mandated messages by those whose mission is to serve Him, to give intelligence of truth to the wandering minds of man, and presentation of pardon to the guilty lives they live, whether in pride of self-imposed assessments, or with the proud, autocratic estimations of self-worth, or in the arrogant, hopeless indifference that lives with the cynical, or even in the imprecise pondering impelling the philosophers of self and mankind, collecting shells on an unknown sea shore, and never finding the depths, the currents or the point of the whole.

 

 

The love of  God has sent in His own Godhead, just One who, the brightness of His glory, has come in the flesh as a man. No excuse can qualify His calling, for He came; no ignoring can remove His demonstration of power and wit and wisdom, health and holiness, for He has done all that the prophets prescribed for Him in His coming, has done all things well.

 

 

Under every test, whether of guile, hatred, confrontation, subtlety, physical suffering, humiliation, derogation, crucifixion, death, He has come to the front as leader for mankind, never wrong though often wronged, never susceptible to disproof, though His claims surpass even the entire universe, itself a mere cradle for His craft and site for the testing of mankind, His own life always performing with precision all that was required to make manifest to man that this was not only in word, but in works, the very life of God. Such is the wit and wisdom of God that He did not stop in the construction of the greatest, vital, programmatic, purposeful, unifying, design-construction ever witnessed, as a matter of plain fact in terms of any meaningful design-definition, on earth.

 

We can all witness it by simply living, for it is ourselves! Rather to this amazing direction of words in DNA, to works in engineering syntheses and symphonies of meaning, supplied with executive facilities without executive stress or salaries, has the Lord God appended words for transmission to the minds which use this staggeringly functional equipment which we can see by looking about us, even in the mirror.

 

These intelligible words, added to those integrating words to make us able to act and live, comprise a preliminary totality. You can shut your eyes, and you are as blind; but if you shut your eyes to what is their meaning and purpose, you are the modern equivalent of a S.I.W, case, where damage is wrought on one's own body in order to escape war. There is however no escape from the war of right and wrong, truth and error, hatred and love, realism and fictitious imaginations (cf. Secular Myths and Sacred Truth).

 

 It is when you use your eyes to examine the words which accompany, like a hand-book, your reception of them as a gift wrought by hands invisible by means ascertainable, which proceed down the track of many generations, being transferable by pro-creation, just as they were invented by creation, and when you find your Creator, that vanity becomes virtue, fiction becomes fact, the failing surmises of man become the verified word of your Maker in your own realisation, and you are ready to live, not merely subsist, with whatever addition of pride, the surreal or the dispirited, the self-enamourment of mere thankless madness, or the indifference which is such a find prelude to destruction in the ways of mankind.

 

The word which is written introduces to the Worker who made you, who coming to earth as man, has brought the message of why He wrought in what He taught, so that filled with His wit and wisdom, you may live more abundantly, and escape the writ of the reaper with the wisdom of eternal life, to be resurrected as He rose, and to appear before Him who made you, clothed with grace and governed with goodness - His!

 

Civilisations have been built around Him, the dating structure made for millennia to be based on Him for many nations, laws have rested on this word, principles have been proclaimed and applied as He stated them,  and as the word of the prophets and apostles has shown. Nations have arisen to power, like the USA and Great Britain as this word has given point and meaning, purpose and principle, however poorly at times applied, to them, and with many, they now begin to fall from their earlier greatness as they grunt into the ground, in their wealth increasingly preferring craft, or guile, or worldly principles of success, as in the last Great War, when Stalin, one wicked wing of pointless philosophy his guide, became an ally to defeat one on the opposite side of delusion, which leading to the Cold War, showed the folly of departing from the word of God for convenience or safety (cf. Aviary of Idolatry, with Ch. 1 to follow).

 

 

Now a witless word in a wandering world, departing from the wit and wisdom of the word of God, wanting to make all things new in some collision of East and West, Left and Right, explicit and implicit, conscious and unconscious, some clutter and clatter of synthetic syncretism, as if weed killer and weed were mixed with malted milk and roast beef and Yorkshire pudding, together with industrial waste, since it has to go somewhere: this becomes the new universal fashion, and it justly finds its way impassable. So the world worries, but it does not act on the Book of the Lord.

 

What would one expect ? Is it enough to take all the examination papers of all students and mix them up, finding now this way and now that of presenting truth and error, brilliance and the grotesque doltishness of inanimation, as if mixture were a fixture for faith, an answer to conundrums and a way in the wilderness,  which comes vainly when you are busy both straying and inventing a false dusk, because you shirk the light.

 

Of course men’s hearts are failing for fear, as Luke 21 predicted, from fear of atomic bombs in militant Islamic hands, in terrorist hands, of sudden devastation by dirty bombs, and any of a whole array of misguided power with guided missiles or even shoulder mounted rockets, of Iranian  devastations to give point to the talk of removing Israel from the map, as they pursue their urge. And what does Islamic tradition abundantly attest of many nations ? It is brutality to women as in some of Islam’s common procedures, inveterate desire to rule from a religion false to verification and a mere dream unsubstantiated in the face of the Bible, which in ALL things come to pass precisely as shown. Instead, the new Fourth World War comes, seeking a place, using a religion self-contradictory, passing off biblical prophets as forerunners of its own false prophet, and then contradicting their whole sacrificial system of atonement which they propounded in the Bible, where grace gives the pardon, and mercy has feet (cf. More Marvels … Ch. 4, SMR pp.  1080ff.), while inventing a false christ centuries after the true one, without even being consistent in the invention (cf.  Tender Times for Timely Truth Ch.  8,  *1  esp.,  SMR 986ff., 1088Dff.).

 

That as one of the tribe of false prophets to come, is just what Christ, His word the testable truth, proclaimed would come (Matthew 24:24). It is like spots in chicken-pox. Once you have the disease, they can be predicted; and here the disease is dismissal of the tried, true and tested word of God (cf. SMR), and pursuit of a review-modelling religion, founded where fruition lacks, verification fails and invention is not sustained (cf. SMR pp. 829ff., Divine Agenda ... Ch. 6).

 

 

Like epileptic attacks, man convulses first into Nazism, then Communism, then New Age convolutions of abstruse non-verifications and diffuse thought (cf.  SMR pp.  867ff.), then Islamic submission to what is not first submitted to test, then humanism comes to its dark pinnacle, in ever-new Earth Charters, c/- Russia (cf. It Bubbles... Ch. 11 as marked), the bankrupted relic, then pragmatism decides to profit from a China which rustles its silk purse to buy souls, imprisons saints, seeks to supervise Christianity, and having sold the soul in godless materialism which is not even possible (cf. Repent or Perish Ch. 7), then seeks to help others invest their properties in its prosperity, till it should have enough industrial might and God-forsaking commerce in its vest, to invest Taiwan. Thus appears the trend of things, and if it were not so, who could be happier than this author ? But evidence must be faced.

 

 

The world is dying from lack of wisdom, lack of desire for it, woeful and wanton follies, heralded by false prophets, secular or other, till its witless ways so contras with the brilliance of our own design, and the designs of the word and wisdom of God in the Bible, in Christ, for us, that its sensuous and psychological substitutes for living become the mere noises of its departing life. Ah but life is still wonderful! they chant, as they did before the World War II. There is however nothing wonderful about being witless, about ignoring the wisdom of God, your Creator, and working your own follies as if blindness were a calling, and brokenness were health.

 

 

In this volume, the wonder of the wit and wisdom of God in the Bible, in Christ, is the focus, and that word stands where all else falls in every domain to which we pay attention. THIS, it is like a world tour which pays and prospers, for it is not the passing moment of pleasure which comes, but a repentance not to be repented of, and a response to the Lord’s Christ not to be dismissed, even a trip to truth, and a visa for the same, for the heartland of holiness and the land of uprightness, where the vision of truth has foundation, and the fact of life has explanation, where the way for it has undimmed attestation and the requirements are as clear as the day at noon.
