ISRAEL WILL NOT GO AWAY
 

BUT THOSE WHO PRESUME TO DICTATE TO HER,

ALLEGIANCE MOVEABLE

One must realise that with Israel, as with the human genome, you are not dealing with man and his efforts, but with God and His works, finished since the creation of the world.

               "For only as believers do we enter into His rest,
                as it is said, As I swore in my wrath, they shall enter into my rest:
                although the works were finished from the foundation of the world," Hebrews 4:3.

There is no use playing the lunatic, as was done when many sought to subvert churches 50 to 100 years ago. It means what it says and is clear. There was a foundation of the world. It was a time. God did it. It was finished. Genesis notes this fact (Genesis 2:1-4), and thus what started ONCE, finished ONCE, and now is finished. The visible was made from the invisible (Hebrews 11:1-3), just as when we create literature, though this was absolute, the entire systems, backgrounds, ontology of creation invested from source and resource, as when an army prepares and assaults; but this was to make, not to unmake!

That is the case with the arrival of this world, and it will parallel the case for its departure as in II Peter 3, when God will call for it to go, and fast and strenuous will be its departure. When you have power,  you do not need to fiddle, and methods are proportionate to power, as in the Gulf War, at the human level, when the international force and armour, aircraft and deployment was ultra-sophisticated. enormous and vast in its impact when duly unleashed. It waited, being worked out. Then it was done; and  it worked. In the Gulf war,  long prepared, shortly It wrecked. It finished.

In creation,  God unleashed His word, and it was done. SINCE God finished it, man has been without excuse, his disjunction from God and His works varying from fiddling follies in inchoate philosophy (cf.  Spiritual Refreshings Ch. 13), to pseudo-subtle ramifications and infractions of logic (cf.  SMR Ch.  3) in the very face of obvious, competent,  all-inclusive answers to  every major category

Deity and Design ..., esp.   8).

Not only so, examine as you will, it IS finished in all major designs (designs decreasing rapidly in number,  according to Professor Stephen Gould of Harvard, in his Wonderful Life (cf. Wake Up World! ... Ch. 6), while the human genome rapidly is deteriorating according to Professor Sanford of Cornell University (cf. Waiting for Wonder ... Appendix). That is the way with designs in this world; they tend to come apart; and these have lasted several thousands years, auto-serviced and reproduced, a miniaturised marvel of intricate complexity, susceptible to concept,  governing by language, commanded to be what it is. Nature is recipient. Life is by command, in its physical aspect. Evolution is a mere myth; creation happened and leaves a trail in all categories (cf. SMR pp.  140ff.). Reason and empirical evidence insist! If you deny both, both deny you.

This however is not our present theme. It is just a reminder that disallowing what God states, whether in morals against the nature He has given us, in innovative secession from those designs (as in Romans 1), or in disposition of nations, is a self-destructive assault on our own basis, merely incremental to sin in an already cursed world (cf. Beyond the Curse,  News 97,  Christ the Citadel). Israel is undeniable as well, a body created NOT from the foundation of the world, but in dim antiquity, as uniquely described and recorded in Genesis. The terms and conditions, the covenant of grace with Abraham is to be found there. Israel is to be found there. Its problems and chronic rebelliousness is to be found as early as Deuteronomy 28-32, all foretold, as likewise in Leviticus 26, in its sequential level, of which so far Hitler was the worst, the "time of Jacob's trouble" leading on to the Messiah (as in Zechariah 12).

It is not easy on anyone when he kills the Saviour, be he Gentile or Jew, be it physical as to formatting or spiritual as to impact. Of course, you cannot eliminate God or the Messiah whom He sent, as Psalm 2 shows, and recent history underlines; but you CAN eliminate blessing and incur the results of folly in practising it, as in all things, but nowhere better than when you internally blight the very SOURCE of your potential blessing. Some are very good at this, and Jew or Gentile, many have marked capacities for doing it; and not learning.

Europe in particular has nearly ruined itself in endless seeming wars. Yet it is regarded in evangelical circles as a mission field. 

It has been cold  enough towards Israel, and the UN has been a union of calamitous numbers of Islamic representatives and ONE nation called Israel, with policy destructive towards that mini-nation, Israel, and protective and unwavering help to the Arabs, who despite many nations of like religion to which to go, and having had opportunities to live in Jordan, disgracefully misused in making it a base for attack on Israel, still want more. Gaza was given; this too was misused to make it an earth-bound satellite for bombarding Israel, just as Jordan had been. Yet the UN never understands, and even the US has been calling for a total halt to building, later toned down somewhat, with more and more hints and indications that the Arabs would like Israel to give them part of their capital city, their eternal capital as it has been  called in Israel since about 1980, for reasons unknown, unless to bombard Israel with bullets, bombs or propaganda further, and act as if they had gained the city they lost, by might of arms.

It is all  exceptionally, devastatingly immoral; and what the facilitators such as the Madrid Quartet of the USA, Russia, the EU and the UK seem to forget is this, that God has measured it all in advance, determined the end of the matter as gall and convenience unite to forward a fallen religion, from the first at Mecca, an exponent of force in the arena of faith (cf. News 97), and to invade the Israeli democracy. It is, as in the Gulf War,  part of the deliverances promised to Israel in Zechariah 12 (which stands in sequence of time just before the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Israel leading to conversion of very many, to Christ the Messiah, the Jew for the Gentiles, the Son of God Almighty,  despatched from heaven to His earthly Gulf war, moving out to embrace the Gentiles, with salvation by sacrifice as always shown in the Bible.

Alas for the Madrid Quartet, do they not know it is time to stop ? It is stated in Zechariah 12, of this pre-return of Christ period (Zechariah 14), when Israel in great numbers will repent of crucifying Him, not only a "very heavy stone",  with which the Middle East would have to agree, as would the USA and the Quartet, but more, far more! Be warned.

THE THINGS MOVABLE AND IMMOVABLE

It is written further of Jerusalem for this period, now already marked with precisely those supernatural seeming victories and triumphs over what appeared vastly superior foes, in 1948,1967,1973, and vicariously,1991,deliverances for Israel (which had to fail ONLY ONCE!) as foretold in Zechariah 12:5-9), THAT "all who would heave it away," that is this very heavy stone,  "will surely be cut to pieces."

In the Gulf War, it was not being heaved away, but protected. They took special  care, we read in Desert Storm,   to seek to eliminate Iraqi missile  sites and situations which might affect Israel, not wanting at all any intervention  from  that land,  lest it upset the coalition. Be the reason what it may have been, the result was victory by vast power,  for Israel, with which Iraq declared itself still  at war since 1948. That war appears in a vastly detailed book, set in Reader's Digest form, by British Commander in the scene, General Sir Peter de la Billière (Desert Storm), to have been one of the most efficient and complex, strategically brilliant, ever.

Thus, whether from her own direct deliverance, then, as earlier, or in this Gulf War, as it were by a very deliberate proxy, Israel was delivered and delivered. But what of the present ? So it was  predicted by Zechariah for this period of history; and so it has happened, the perfect norm for the word of God written, the Bible. But what is the present development, and may it portend ?

If it is not a new extermination exercise, then it has something of the look of one,  as now this nation and now that, the UN, whichever,  is demanding that Israel give up more land (like part of Jerusalem, for example). Why ? So that this might become the next relinquishment of a tiny nation  to  a vast horde of verbalised assailants who have already grossly betrayed the gift of the Gaza strip, to make it a base for assault on the donor!

This remains true, despite the four power-plants of the UK, the USA, the EU and Russia being ready for more dismantling of the tiny sliver of Palestine left to Israel; for it holds,  it does not evaporate, disappear, nor is it to be found,  as looked for in Nasser's day, somewhere else in the Mediterranean. In fact, the Lord says here, "though all the nations of the earth are gathered against it." Then what ? Then this: they will be cut to pieces.

It is not an attractive prospect, and who more like a recipient at this time, than Iran's man in the midst, Ahmadinejad, doubly qualified as seeking to "heave away" Jerusalem from Israel, to rid the place of the catastrophe as it is deemed to be, the very PRESENCE of a Jewish people. Yet alas,  is the Madrid Quartet going to invite itself into such a position! They are close, very close, to  appropriating a place. May some at least wake up in time, that fighting God has NEVER been a practical proposition; and that furthermore, the sheer madness of doing so is in itself a spiritual disease so profound that it carried with it all the force of an active cancer, like melanoma. To be healed of such intrusion,  this is essential for safety, spiritual sanity, goodwill and scriptural affiliation! Our Maker is far wiser than we, and having no need, gives; and if judgment must come to the merciless, to the aggressor, to the rebel at length, why seek it as if it were the most beautiful thing in the world! It is the most noxious.

In Australia, it was noted in the last Chapter, they may very well have the spiritual folly to disengage from  seeking the good help of  Almighty God, and cast out His name. They may decide to include some distorted form of alleged aboriginal worship at the  same time, and in short, do a real Ahaz job. He,  it was the king who not only allowed a fouling up of the things of the Lord in the temple, but imported false gods as well, into the very precincts (II Kings 16:10ff.). It is good to entertain  strangers, but not to give them the house: then you could no more entertain them!

The Australian people may be subjected to equivocation and cavilled into such a folly, as to invent new sexual ideas contrary to design, or espouse them, or make them into a 'marriage', or remove the reference to God Almighty in the Preamble to the Constitution; though one hopes not, for it has been a great country, and its willing despoiling would be tragic. It is grievously possible that this may be to our great detriment as a people, and one gravely hopes it may not become so. Yet as to Israel, God HAS ALREADY UNDERWRITTEN IT, but NOT as a glorious and a holy and a deserving nation. That (as in Ezekiel 36:22) is not the case at all;   for what in rebellion against its Maker could be (for all its many good works,  shown by few nations about it, if any). Rather is He committed to it, to defend and change it,   as one whom  HE has already disciplined and which HE will sustain. Beware, then, Quartet, lest you fight against God!

HE will defend the place when the time comes (Micah 7:14ff.), on a scale reminiscent of His action in the Exodus. People can disbelieve almost anything if they try hard enough to  warp their minds and eliminate the testimony of history; but this does nothing whatsoever to diminish the awesome power of Almighty God. Believe it or not, He is the same. Become rebel or not; He does not change. Once He states a resolution, it will be done (Isaiah 14:27). Pity intervenes, but when the future opens up, HE has foreknown it,  and so it goes.

ISRAEL WILL NOT GO AWAY, and Jerusalem, its  appointed capital and  sacrificial site (ONE ONLY was to be chose as in SMR pp.  823), will stay put, and be a centre from which and through which the Lord, on His return,  will operate (Micah 4, Zechariah 12). While for a small time,  some seduction may occur, in some part, this is but a lull for the typhoon.

Be warned therefore, you judges, as Psalm 2 advises, and watch that you do not cross the word of God, authorised afresh by Jesus the Christ (Matthew 5:17-20), and yet as those benumbed in mind, expect blessing rather than bleeding. It is in all good will that one warns.

THE WORD OF THE LORD IMMOVEABLE

TO PROTECT AND TO SAVE

God has left much free to man in His wonderful gift of liberty; but there are some things, commands,  other things, a nation for the Christ, further things, prophesied developments (cf. SMR Ch. 8, Answers to Questions Ch. 5), which He has assiduously presented. If we can read,  let us learn. If we fear God, let us follow. If we fear others, then let such idols vain as they are, be our downfall, if so it must be. Bet let this author hasten to add, in this piece of empathy, that I for my part,  will no more cast myself into such a role, than drown myself for a joke. I love to fear God, for He is awesome, and such fear is clean (Psalm 46); and I love to be clean and kept that way before God, sin purged and paid for, the power of the Holy Spirit surging and washing, as the ocean washes the shore.

Nor will the people of God go away, until the Rapture, that sudden call to resurrection in Christ at an unknown time (I Corinthians `5:58ff.), one more transformative than birth itself. Yet it is one by all its signs and signals, approximated now (Answers to Questions, loc. cit. ); and THEN, it will make the presence of the vast  forces of Desert Storm, so assiduously and fearsomely gathered to invade Iraq, while the air war was raging to prepare for the infantry and tank advance, seem but as a parade of butterflies by comparison. There is NO LIMIT to the power of God. He has been patient; but He has been sure.

When He acts, it will be unanswerable, but how good He has been to give to mankind a couple of millenia to think, to talk, to reason, to  consider treason or truth,  to envisage and to try and test. It has been very wonderful; though the deeds of our human race have often been despicable, not animalish, far beyond that, raging into the devilish, self-centred, cavalier,  presumptuous. True, many have been patient and lovely, and kind, and thoughtful, and self-controlled, have loved God and feared Him with relish; but the powers-that-be have not distinguished themselves very much. The 'beasts' of Daniel 7 have been not at all ineptly named, but have largely lived down to their prophetic characterisation.

You may PUT AWAY the worship, the name of God from your Constitution if you are sufficiently foolish, duped or misled,  and ditch your hopes for pure wilfulness, whether man or nation, woman or child; but you cannot put away God, nor Israel, since it is for His own purposes. Nor is it like Churchill for so  long safe in the depths of his underground home during the war: GOD DOES NOT NEED TO HIDE.

It is man who will hide in that day, and let us in the very context of that great and empathetically enticing Ch. 7 of Micah,  remember what the Lord has scheduled Himself to do in the final conflict, before He returns to rule as in Psalm 2, and to continue as in Psalm 72, this He will do:

"As in the days when you came out of the land of Egypt, I will show them wonders.

"The nations will see and be ashamed of all their might;
They shall put their hand over their mouth;

"Their ears shall be deaf,
They shall lick the dust like a serpent;

"They shall crawl from their holes like snakes of the earth.

"They shall be afraid of the Lord our God,

And shall fear because of You."
 

It is this God who there has this said, 

"You will give truth to Jacob
And mercy to Abraham,
which You have sworn to our fathers,
From days of old."

Yet though He has His own path (and it is so clearly traced out in this regard in Romans 11 (cf. The Biblical Workman Chs.   1 and     3), He will magnify His word above all His name, and be ready till the end, for His mercy is profound:

"Who is a God like You,

Pardoning iniquity,

And passing over the remnant of His heritage.

He does not retain His anger forever,

Because He delights in mercy.

He will again have compassion on us,

And will subdue our iniquities.

You will cast all our sins

Into the depths of the sea."

Such is for those who fear God, who have repented and found in Christ, their Maker and salvation, sent to redeem from heaven itself (Isaiah 48:16ff.), without charge (Romans 3:23ff.), in love toward mankind (Titus 2), and with no desire to condemn the world, but that it through Him might be saved (John 3:17).
