There is a better way.

It will come to this earth, as it has already come to multiplied millions over the last two millenia, and in essence, before that as the hearts that awaited the Messiah of Micah 5, Isaiah 52-55 and Psalm 2, relied on Him who was to come, and is mighty to save (Isaiah 63:1, Psalm 16, 22, 32, 51).

Then to the seeing eye, as now to the awakened heart, there is peace in self-control under the wisdom of the resident Christ; only then, it will be a presence visible, and a rule regal indeed (Psalm 72, Isaiah 11), while the wicked who have vaunted their follies, will find in new faith, rest, or in continued folly, rebuke.

Now, what do these 'rest' do who have no rests ? They engage in minimising or even ignoring the power of God as has been done by Assyria and Babylon in the past (their capitals now regaled with the dust as foretold), and by the entire modern academic establishment, at least in its majority,  which seeks in effect to make a new tower of Babel, where they rule with the gods, defaced and defiled, of their own raucous imaginations.

These are

	naturalistic gods without tongues
	but they speak in the DNA,
	without understanding,
	but they show it in designs innumerable surpassing all contestants for that NAME 'design', by vast functional felicities in KIND,
	without power to help, and they do not help, or power to save, and they do not save.

Their gods are contradictions in terms precisely as were the other naturalistic gods of which Psalm 94:8ff. has so scathingly spoken, and Jeremiah so dismissively exposed (Jeremiah 10:10-11, 2:9-13, 27-29). Let us hear these expositions from the Lord, in order. .

^"Thus you shall say to them:

      'The gods that have not made the heavens and the earth
       shall perish from the earth and from under these heavens.

                          And hewn themselves cisterns—broken cisterns that can hold no water.

'Saying to a tree, "You are my father,"

And to a stone, "You gave birth to me."

For they have turned their back to Me, and not their face.

But in the time of their trouble

They will say, "Arise and save us."

Let them arise,

If they can save you in the time of your trouble;

For according to the number of your cities

Are your gods, O Judah.

 

^'Why will you plead with Me?

                    You all have transgressed against Me,' says the Lord."

Israel of old fell apart in folly, and paid; and now the Gentiles blindly thrash
like an angry crocodile newly in captivity, now killing millions in USSR, now in China, now in
Cambodia of an earlier day, and now trying their hand in the Sudan, now torturing, now discarding
truth like old clothes, and trying on new suits that do not fit, suits dedicated to 'nature', a god without power, intelligence or hope, but a creation showing the power of God and the intelligence and wisdom of God, to which those blinded by superstition close their eyes. This they do as they invent a 'nature' which neither is nor ever has been, which has all the attributes of God, just as a junk yard has all the attributes of cars, except that they do not go, being merely former creations (cf. The gods of naturalism have no go! Deity and Design ...).

The cause of current strife is first of all categorical: the avoidance of the Designer, Creator, Redeemer, the Author and original of love and the basis and fountain of power, the presenter and potentate of wisdom evident throughout all the earth both in the marvels of His minute and grand constructions and in the results of its absence in hearts which refuse to know Him, and bomb and maim and invade and terrorise and seek pleasure, immoral lust and fanciful notions of non-morals despite their evident design. It is a two-edged sword: What His wisdom has done and what man's refusal of it IS DOING!

In the Middle East the time will come (cf. Isaiah 19), when the internecine strife will seek. Israel, humbled and helped, will be in its land, but not as rulers and great, being redeemed in many just as many of the Gentiles are, but nevertheless back in place where the grace of God first DECLARED it; for God has a mind and keeps to His will. It is He who is the Ruler (cf. Isaiah 11).

It is its land. It is small; but it is sovereignly decreed. Contesting with God, now that is back from the divine discipline (Hosea 1-3, Ezekiel 36-39 cf. SMR Appendix A, Zechariah 12-13) is like trying to save an aircraft, newly made and original, able to go at 5000 miles per hour, and at that speed currently one millimetre from the earth at which it is directing itself vertically ... It is not a situation to be desired; but it is one to be found amply on this erring earth. Then there is complaint about the aircraft, though it is magnificently made, or desire to worship it, even in its destruction; or to build more, limping things of sorrow and folly, in order to do it again.

 Ahmadinejad's exuberance exhibition of the desire to delete this nation, it is conspicuous for folly, sensational in audacity against God, and a prime exhibit of rambunction. He is however not by any means alone, however callow in utterance and militant in mind. Man has nodes in his branchings away from God, and this is one of them. Again, he destroys links to the Lord, and searching for so long for that is not there physically, he is ignorant of the fact that he himself is cutting the link which does exist.

The missing link is the love of God in the context of the power of God with the provision of the peace of God, through the Saviour sent as foretold by God, and this amid the enthralling depositions of the doctrine of God, the wisdom of the word of God, all given and secure these millenia.

Without that, flames and fury are the messages of man to man in multiplied myriads on missions of death. It is neither profitable nor wise, neither sound nor sanctified, the mere bluster of flesh.

Peace will never come without God (except politically and superficially for a little time, the better to contrast its end in truth as in I Thessalonians 5:1ff., with such results as in II Thessalonians 1).

God is merciful, but not befuddledly mellow. Those who imagine He is witlessly acclaiming or endorsing the molestation of His creation, and that they can act as they will with it, without rational ground and verified revelation, He does not endorse. Indeed, He is in the Bible on record many times for the exact opposite, and in particular concerning the bullies of Israel. *

Nor is He watching with fitful interest, as some weary of this earth , might watch a cricket match, listlessly. He has already appointed the times of war and peace, the latter when His advent brings its offer as at Calvary and in the resurrection of His body, which none could ever find but His disciples because He had it, and took it where He wanted to be; and when at last He comes (cf. II Peter 3:9), not lax in all this time, but longsuffering and giving to many the grace to find Him before He is here (cf. Zechariah 12-13, Acts 2:17ff.), then it will be, the profundity of peace as the earth is filled with the knowledge of the glory of God as the waters cover the sea (Isaiah 11, Habakkuk 2:14). .

There is a time for peace for nations and for individual hearts. The latter may find it at any time, by seeking the Lord and His cancellation of sin at the Cross by faith, and relying on the power of His resurrection through grace, that they might be saved; and the former ? it comes with His advent which draws nearer and nearer, like an ocean liner, showing with every move the intent of its Captain, at first with tugs, and then with swirling waters and movements this way and that, it approaches the wharf appointed (cf. Answers to Questions Ch. 5, SMR Chs.  8-9).

All these things make it clear that man is wrong, that his song is significantly foolish, that his aspirations for power without love are as vain as are those of the hypocrite; and that zeal is no substitute for truth, with which is to be found peace, but only on the terms of the God of the Bible, whose word rules in things great and small - a verificatory matter (cf. Thy Word is Wonderful, SMR Chs. 8-9, The Pitter-Patter of Prophetic Feet Ch. 4, Light Dwells with the Lord's Christ). 

The Designer of man has designs for man, which surpass the provisions of man's equipment; and if man, foolish to misuse his powers of invention and imagination, seeks to imagine God out of existence, yet he snuffs not one particle either of what God has said in the Bible, as Jesus Christ and concerning creation, the flood, the coming judgment and the designations of kind, of which man occupies one niche, or of their purpose.

Imagining that man

	can have purpose, and invent to that end, and not be the product of purpose, to create the facility for its use,
	have liberty to follow even intentional untruth very often, and to ponder lie or truth, and that he
	may reject this necessity of his creation, and yet still know the truth, on a model without such a thing:

this is the same folly as seeks in other ways than by self-contradiction, to distance God.

The GOD who DESIGNS is most clear, and this is one of the exhibits concerning design. God has designs - one of these is called man - and has in man made a creature able to plan and imagine and with volatility or gravity, make plans for his own designs. God is not less. His plans mature. There is no gap when it comes to God. He fills any such thing to repletion.

With these occupy a moment with Zechariah 12:1ff., and consider the present plight of the nations who burden themselves with Israel - as do the USA, Russia, the UN and the EU, and how much joy this has provided for them. Nay, it is indeed a "cup of drunkenness" that they drink.

In other words, intrusive and stripping nations become intoxicated with it, staggering witless around: a thing most apparent in the endless contrivances and repulses against all odds, of endlessly harassing invasive forces, whether through diplomacy as in the Madrid Quartet, or arms, or vehement denunciations as from Ahmadinejad.

It is all being fulfilled from the amazing restoration as in a moment of Israel as a nation, just when the combination of dishonour from Britain, disengagement with the League of Nations' gift and extinction of 6 millions Jews, tossed out of this earth,  by one of the nations of Europe might have seemed to put paid to the oft-repeated, divine clear announcement. This ? It was that they WOULD COME BACK (Luke 21:24 with Matthew 24:1ff., Hosea 1-3, Micah 7, Ezekiel 36-39 cf. SMR Appendix A). It is in the line of General MacArthur in his famous talk and then action in the Philippines. I shall return, quoth he in the midst of ruin and superior seeming enemy powers. Then he did.

Israel is back as God decreed would be, to a land not made negotiable, but from which they were taken as a rebuke, as long before also predicted (Leviticus 26). Their warrant from Genesis 17 and Deuteronomy 32, is not a congratulation as you see in Ezekiel 36:22. God however is committed plighted, and unwise is he, or that nation, which 'takes Him on'! God has always been open to test, and there has always been but one result, even when it involves chastening of the delivered party (as shown for example in Jeremiah 30:11).  God has concern as many seem not to - it is for one great thing which He has magnified above all His name (Psalm 138:2).

Since He is eternal, knows the end from the beginning (cf. Isaiah 46:19, Acts 15:18). It is His WORD!  Not only is Israel back at its divinely appointed post (cf. Galloping Events Ch. 4), but it has won the predicted wars of amazing disproportion of powers, triumphing when apparently doomed. It has taken,  as Zechariah specified, at one stage, not the whole of Jerusalem (that in 1967), but the half of it,  that at the Mandelbaum Gate (1948). These things are in nature just as that prophet declared; Israel is a heavy burden to  their aggressive defoliators, whether these be Palestinian, Iranian, ex-Saudi or whatever.

These fail amid the blood of their appetites, both their own and those of their victim nation. Allah has no power at all in the mêlée (cf. SMR pp. 830ff., More Marvels ... Ch. 4, The Divine Agenda Ch. 6), his words and the deeds being far apart, in this, just as those of the Lord God of the Bible are exceedingly close together, in speech as in historic fulfilment, both in things large and in the small.

Indeed, the deaths inflicted by many who murder, assault what is God-given, so far from inheriting paradise, will be liable meet justice. One can only hope that more in all those racial groups, instead of following false religions and prophets, joining Israel in this, that Christ is rejected as Saviour and God, will be found before their rebellion has a cost which makes both this life and its money, seem small by comparison.
